On October 22, 2024, the School of Public Finance and Taxation at Southwest University of Finance and Economics inaugurated the 2024 Great Discussion on Educational Thought. The event commenced with a keynote lecture by Xu Zhi, Deputy Director of the Academic Affairs Office, on the topic 'Deep Integration of Artificial Intelligence into Education and Teaching.' All faculty members of the Public School of Finance and Taxation attended the lecture and engaged in discussions relevant to the school's educational teaching endeavors.
During the meeting, Deputy Director Xu Zhi highlighted that the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence technology is transforming traditional educational teaching models. The university is in the process of implementing a series of innovative reform measures, which include the establishment of a top-tier basic discipline innovation experimental class, as well as reforms in training programs and the innovation of several digital experimental classes. Deputy Director Xu emphasized that courses and teaching materials are central to educational teaching reforms, and optimizing these elements can significantly enhance the quality of teaching.
In the subsequent departmental discussions, teachers actively responded to Deputy Director Xu's initiative to promote the deep integration of artificial intelligence with educational teaching. They are currently planning how to integrate the construction of top-tier majors into the integrated, intelligent, and international process of educational teaching to meet the new standards set by the Ministry of Education for financial and economic higher education.
Starting from October 2024, the annual Great Discussion on Educational Thought at the School of Finance and Taxation has officially begun. This year's discussion will concentrate on two core issues: 'high-quality talent cultivation' and 'the spirit of educators.' The Great Discussion on Educational Thought is not only a reflection of the pursuit of educational quality but also an in-depth exploration and insight into the future direction of education. In the context of building a strong educational nation, exploring the deep integration of intelligent technology with professional education will undoubtedly present significant challenges and opportunities.
